DRDO to conduct captive flight trails of Anti-Radiation Missile

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has decided to conduct captive flight trials of an advanced, state-of-the-art Anti-Radiation Missile (ARM) in April-May 2016. During captive flight trials DRDO scientist will evaluate performance of the missile’s heat seeker, structural capability, navigation and control system and aerodynamic vibrations. Later by end of 2016, actual ground testing will be conducted and later it will be fired from Su-30 during the actual flight trial.

Former UN Secretary General Boutros Ghali passes away

Former United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali passed away in Cairo, Egypt. He was 93. Mr. Boutros-Ghali was Egyptian politician and diplomat who had served as sixth UN Secretary-General from 1992 to 1996. He was United Nations’ first secretary-general from Africa.

Union Government unveils National Capital Goods Policy 2016

The Union Government has unveiled a National Capital Goods Policy 2016 to give an impetus to the capital goods sector and the Make in India initiative. It was unveiled by Union Minister of Heavy Industry & Public Enterprise Anant Geet on the occasion of the Make in India Week held in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This is for the first time, Union Government (Ministry of Heavy Industry & Public Enterprise) has framed such national policy for the capital goods sector.

Commemoration of Tatya Tope’s 200th birth anniversary

Commemoration 200th Birth Anniversary of Tatya Tope, one of the notable generals in India’s First War of Independence (1857-58) of Revolt of 1857 was observed in NewDelhi. Sindh becomes first Pakistan province to adopt Hindu Marriage Bill


Sindh became the first Pakistan province to adopt landmark Hindu Marriage Bill, 2015 in order to allow the minority community to register their marriages. This is for the first such a law is being passed since formation of Pakistan in 1947 to safeguard rights of Hindus, a second largest religious minority community in the country.


Jharkhand gets first Mega Food Park at Ranchi

Jharkhand’s first mega food park was inaugurated by Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal at village Getalsud in Ranchi district of state. This park is promoted by Jharkhand Mega Food Park Pvt. Ltd and seeks to give an impetus to the growth of the food processing sector in the state.
