1.     Supreme court on 4 September 2014 upheld the Uttar Pradesh government decision to use Urdu as second official language in the state.              
2.     “Favouritism”in govt judgments down; India betters its global rank

India’s global ranking in favouritism shown by government officials to powerful corporates has bettered sharply from 94th in the last year to 49th place this year. The Rank nevertheless, still remains far below other key economies. As per a yearly study by the World Economic Forum(WEF), India’s ranking has also bettered notably in terms of public trust in politicians.

3.     UNION HOME MINISTERY ON 5 SEPTEMBER2014 APPORVED SETTING UP OF A TASK FORCE TO MONITOR AND EXPENDITE THE PROCESSING OF CITIZENSHIP AND LONG TERM VIS(LYV) APPLICTIONS. THE TASK FORCE WILL BE HEADED BY A JOINT SECRETARY LEVEL OFFICER AND WILL START ITS OPERATIONIN NEXT TWO WEEKS.

4.     THE SUPREME COURT  OF INDIA ON 4 SEPTEMBER 2014 ASKED THE UNION GOVERNMENT TO CLARIFY ITS STAND ON GRANTING DUAL CITIZENSHIP OF CHILDREN WHO ARE BORN IN INDIA VIA INDIAN SURROGATE MOTHER, WHILE THE BIOLOGICAL MOTHER OF CHILDREN IS A FOREIGN NATIONAL.

5.     SBI HAS ALWAYS TOOK ITS BANKINGRECUITMENT EXAMINATION THROUGH OFFLINE METHOD, BUT THIS YEAR THE AUTHORITY HAS DECIDED TO GO FOR IN THE SEA CHANGE IN THE TEST PATTERN

    . The Supreme Court Monday declined N. Srinivasan’s plea to reinstate him as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and gave two more months to the Mukul Mudgal Committee to submit the final report in the spot-fixing and betting scandal in the 2013      edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) that involved 13 people, including some prominent cricketers.
