US President Barack Obama will be chief guest of India's Republic Day 2015

On 21st November 2014, US President Barack Obama accepted the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being the Chief Guest at 66th India's Republic Day celebrations 2015.
Obama will be a part of Republic Day celebrations of India in New Delhi on 26th January 2015, thus he will become first US President to attend the Republic Day Parade of India. Last time Barack Obama visited India in 2010 on the invitation of then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Col CK Nayudu Lifetime achievement award received by Dilip Vengsarkar

On 21st November 2014, Former Indian cricket captain Dilip Vengsarkar was honoured with Colonel C K Nayudu Lifetime achievement award. This award is instituted by BCCI. He was conferred with the prestigious award for this contribution to Indian Cricket. He received cheque of Rs 25 Lakh among a citation and trophy.
Indian medium-pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar also received  Polly Umrigar award and a cheque of Rs 5 lakh. A special award was conferred to Rohit Sharma for a world record of 264 runs in the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka in the recent series.

India clinches 3rd SAFF Women's Championship in Islamabad

On 21st November 2014, Indian team won South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women's Championship at the Jinnah Stadium in Islamabad. Indian team defeated Nepal in the final by one sided match by the score of 6-0.
From Indian Side Ngangom Bala Devi was the star of the game as she helped the team by scoring 4 goals. 
Captain of Indian Team was Oinam Bembem Devi and Captain of Nepal team was Anu Lama.

SAARC committee decided to dissolve three regional centres

On 22nd November 2014, SAARC committee decided to dissolve three regional centres and merge four others to end the duplication of work and also to reduce its budget.
This decision was took at the 49th meeting of the joint secretaries of the SAARC countries.
Three centres which have been dissolved are :

Hero of 71 INS Vikrant is a history now

INS Vikrant which was once a hero of Indian Navy has finally faded away into history as on 21st November 2014 dismantling of this majestic vessel began. As earlier The Bombay High Court had given the go-ahead for Vikrant to be auctioned in January, after it rejected a public interest litigation petition to save the vessel and convert it into a maritime museum and Centre also said that it is difficult to maintain it. Indian Navy in March sold out Vikrant to Mumbai based ship breaking company for Rs. 63 Crore.

Best Project Award of India bagged by Arunachal Pradesh

Among the national current affairs, India's Best Project-2014 award for implementation of skill development and employment generation was bagged by Arunachal Pradesh . As this programme was aimed at benefit of youth, mostly less-educated and school drop-outs.
Gurgaon-based Skoch Group has instituted this award. Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Venkaiah Naidu presented this award to Director of Department of Skill Development and Employment Generation Subu Tabin.
