Ans. 9 November The 9th of November of every year is celebrated as the
Legal Services Day in India. It was first started by Supreme court of India in
the year 1995 to provide help and support to poor and weaker sections of the
society. On the occasion of NLSD, the union government declared its commitment
towards towards Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and added that an intrinsic part of
this commitment is Sabka Nyay or Justice for all.

Ans. 4000 KM Recently, Agni-IV missile
with strike range of 4,000 km was successfully test-fired from the Wheeler
Island, off the Odisha coast. This was the fifth trial of Agni-IV missile. The
indigenously developed surface-to-surface Agni-IV missile is a two-stage weapon
system. It is 20 metres long and weighs 17 tonnes. Agni-I, II and III and
Prithvi missiles are already in the arsenal of the armed forces, giving them reach
of over 3,000 km.

Ans. A P Shah BCCI has appointed retired Justice AP Shah as its
first-ever Ethics officer (Ombudsman) with one year tenure. Justice AP shah was
former chief justice of Delhi high court. The BCCI also removed former
president and ICC chairman N Srinivasan as its representative at the world
body. BCCI also appointed former captain Sourav Ganguly was appointed Chairman
of the Technical Committee.

Environment and Forest Minister (Independent Charge) Jairam Ramesh authored the
book titled – ‘To the Brink and Back: India’s 1991 Story’. The book was
published on first week of September 2015. The book discussed about the
economic policy changes introduced by late P V Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh
in 1991.

Ans. Kosovo Kosovo’s proposal for
membership was narrowly rejected by the UNESCO members. According to UNESCO
rules, the support of two—thirds of those voting was required to allow
membership for a new state. Kosovo’s proposal got less than two-thirds of
votes. Kosovo has been recognized by 111 countries since it declared
independence from Serbia in 2008. Russia backed Serbia in Kosovo’s 1998—99 war
for independence. Russia has used its U.N. Security Council veto to block
Kosovo from becoming a full U.N. member.
