WHO officially declared Sierra Leone Ebola-free

World Health Organization (WHO) on 7 November 2015 announced that Sierra Leone is free of the Ebola virus. West African nation's epidemic was declared over at a ceremony attended by President Ernest Bai Koroma and WHO representative Anders Nordstrom. 
Sierra Leone was declared free of the Ebola virus after no new cases were reported in the West Africa country in 42 days (two Ebola virus incubation cycles), where the virus began in May 2014. 
Bihar will get 1st big FDI in railways
Railway minister Suresh Prabhu has finally given the go-ahead to the long-stalled, big-ticket foreign direct investment (FDI) projects to set up state-of-the art diesel and electric locomotive manufacturing plants in Bihar .
This is the the first major FDI in rail projects. The projects, closely monitored by the PMO.
It was the first big ticket project under ‘Make in India‘ initiative in the public transporter, GE and Alstom .


Union Government decided to impose 0.5% Swachh Bharat Cess on all services

Union Ministry of Finance on 6 November 2015 decided to impose 0.5 percent Swachh Bharat Cess (SBC) on all taxable services. It will be levied in addition to the 14 percent service tax that is in force now.
The SBC will come into force on 15 November 2015. Its proceeds will be exclusively used to support Swachh Bharat initiative.

 

Heena Sindhu won gold in 13th Asian Shooting Championship

India’s Heena Sindhu on 6 November 2015 won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol women’s event at the 13th Asian Shooting Championship.
The championship was started on 1 November 2015 and will be held for 12 days in Kuwait City.
