2019 new deadline for completion of PMGSY
Union Government has reduced the deadline
for completion of flagship Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for rural
connectivity through all- weather roads from 2022 to 2019. The annual
allocation of the Central release for PMGSY works during year 2015-16 also has
been increased by 5,000 crore rupees. With this, the total Central allocation
to states under PMGSY would now be 15,100 crore rupees.

Delhi Assembly has passed the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) (Delhi Amendment) Bill, 2015. The bill amends section 176(1) of the CrPC Act, 1973 and widens the scope of magisterial inquiry into cases of suspicious death, rapes in police custody and suspicious disappearances. Thus, it empowers Delhi government to initiate a magisterial inquiry to cover any other cases in police custody and suspicious death. However, the passage of is consider as another Centre-state flashpoint because Opposition has argued that it challenges the authority of Parliament as Delhi Assembly is empowering itself by passing the bill. The Ruling Delhi Government has mentioned that CrPC Act, 1976 enacted by Parliament is a subject in the Concurrent list (having 52 items) in the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India and having power to amend it.

Telangana Government
declared 231 mandals as drought-hit
Following scanty rainfall in 2016, Telangana Government on 24 November 2015 declared 231 mandals as drought-hit.
The state government has submitted the list of drought-prone mandals and urged it to provide an immediate assistance of 1000 crore rupees to mitigate the situation. It also urged the Union government to send a Central team to assess drought conditions in the state.
Maharashtra
government to launch Gopinath Munde Farmers Accident Insurance Scheme
The Maharashtra government on 24 November 2015 decided to launch Gopinath Munde Farmers Accident Insurance Scheme 2015-16. The scheme will cover accidental death of handicap of the farmers.
The insurance scheme is aimed at ensuring social and economic security to farmers and their families.
The scheme is likely to benefit 1.37 crore farmers in the 10-75 year age group whose names are registered in the land records.
